Disclosures for LakeMartinRiprap.com, Lake Martin's Riprap Referral Site
Plain answers about how this Lake Martin riprap and shoreline referral site works.
We're a referral service
LakeMartinRiprap.com connects Lake Martin property owners with an independent local contractor. We don't place riprap, build or repair seawalls or docks, or install lifts ourselves, and we don't employ the contractors we refer.
How we're paid
Contractors pay us to receive referrals or to advertise on this site. Property owners never pay us anything.
One contractor per request
Each request goes to one contractor who serves your part of the lake, not to a list of companies.
Contractors are responsible for their work
The contractor you hire is responsible for their licensing, insurance, permits, pricing, workmanship, and warranties. Any agreement is between you and the contractor. We encourage you to look up a contractor's Alabama license before hiring; who does the work explains how.
Calls may be recorded
Calls to our phone number may be recorded for quality and to confirm referrals.
Brands and sources
This site is not affiliated with Alabama Power, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, or any county. Shoreline and dock rules on this site are summarized from Alabama Power's published residential shoreline guidelines for Lakes Martin, Yates and Thurlow, its shorelines website and notices, and the Corps permits it links to. Cost figures come from the national cost guide each page names, as of the date stated. They are general information, not legal advice. Alabama Power's Shoreline Management office and your contractor's written quote are what count.
