Helpful to have ready

About how many feet of shoreline you have, or your plat or survey.
A few photos of the bank, seawall or dock, at today's water level and, if you have them, at winter level.
A copy of your recorded deed. Alabama Power asks for one with every shoreline application.
Any Alabama Power permit you already have for the dock or shoreline, and its date.
Whether your subdivision has an architectural review committee or HOA that has to approve shoreline work.
Whether a barge or truck can reach the work, and anything in the way, like trees, stairs or a steep yard.
